Art is Context and Stunt Journalism

Joshua Bell can earn $1000 a minute playing a violin which cost him $3.5 million.

And in a D.C. metro station, playing for passers by?

I'm not a fan of classical violin music, and I was brought to tears. I wonder how it would have touched me in this context, and whether I would have been moved to give money.

  1. Classical music is good for you!

Anyways, Joshua Bell is great. Have you seen the movie "The Red Violin"? If not, go do so now. Then buy the soundtrack (Josh Bell does the solos and their truly great). It's haunting and wonderful.
