Other Brained

Just finished reading the latest installment of Hacking My Child's Brain by Mark Woodman. The series covers the treatments for Woodman's son, Caleb, who has Sensory Processing Disorder. Fascinating stuff.

Reminded me of Elizabeth Moon's The Speed of Dark, which was written from the point of view of an autistic savant.

  1. I love Moon's book about the autistic savant. It's mind-blowing and so compassionately and smartly-written. Good stuff. Maybe a good choice for the next pilgrim book club?

  2. It would be terrific to get other people's feedback on that book. I think she has a child who's autistic? I have no idea if her insights are true or not, but they feel true, and that's good enough for me!
